Pet Vets – Making Veterinary Care Affordable

At Pet Vets, we are dedicated to offering excellent veterinary care at an affordable price. We know how much our patients mean to our clients and always try to do our best for them in these difficult financial times.

Our team of experienced and compassionate veterinarians is committed to delivering the following services in a welcoming and stress-free environment.

Welcome to Banbridge Pet Vets
  • Consultations: Your pet's health is our priority. Our thorough clinical exams help detect and prevent potential health issues, ensuring your furry friend enjoys a long and happy life.

  • Free Health Checks: All new puppies, kittens and any rehomed charity or council pound pets receive a Free Health Check plus advice for any concerns a new owner may have such as care, diet, vaccinations and worming.

  • Vaccinations and Preventive Care: We offer a complete range of vaccinations and preventive treatments to shield your pet from common diseases and parasites, keeping them safe and healthy. Puppies and Kittens are given two vaccinations several weeks apart to help protect them from diseases like Parvovirus and Leukaemia. A Booster vaccination is then given every year to keep their immunity levels high. Pet Vets also recommend a yearly kennel cough vaccination for all dogs.

  • Passports and Rabies vaccinations – We provide these services at an affordable price. Please note passports can only be provided for patients receiving a rabies vaccination and to clients with a Northern Ireland address.

  • Neutering - We advise that all male and female, cats, dogs and rabbits should be neutered. This will reduce the risks of ovarian, prostate and testicular cancers. For females it also reduces the risks of unwanted pregnancies and life threatening womb infections. We recommend neutering once your pet is six months old. At this age, operating times are shorter and they recover more quickly. If your bitch is in season (has been bleeding) then it is best advised to wait for 6-8 weeks until the season is over before spaying.

  • Diagnostics: Our state of the art diagnostic and internal laboratory facilities include biochemistry, haematology and hormone blood panels which provide our vets with a fast and thorough diagnosis. Urinalysis, ultrasound, pregnancy scans and radiography services are also available.

  • Surgical Expertise: Our skilled surgical team provide the highest level of care with both vets having over 20 years experience. We provide everything from routine surgery to more complex procedures which are all carried out using modern anaesthetics. Qualified nurses monitor patients under anaesthetic throughout their procedure as your pets safety and well-being is our top priority.

  • Dental Health: Dental hygiene is crucial for your pet's overall well-being. Our dental services include professional cleanings, dental examinations, and recommendations for at-home care. If your pet has difficulty eating, is losing weight, has a poor appetite or smelly breath then they need to have their teeth checked. Even apparently healthy pets can be suffering from severe dental disease.

  • Nutritional Guidance: Proper nutrition is key to a healthy life. Our veterinarians offer personalised dietary recommendations to keep your pet at an ideal weight and support their specific health needs.

  • Senior Pet Care: As pets age, their needs change. Our senior pet care program focuses on early detection of age-related issues and the implementation of tailored care plans to enhance their quality of life.

  • Emergency Care: Accidents and illnesses can happen at any time. Our emergency care services ensure that your pet receives prompt attention and expert medical care when it's needed most.

  • End of Life Care: it is always a sad and emotional experience when a pet has come to the end of their life. As a team of animal owners, we understand that every owner will process grief differently. We are always here to listen compassionately and guide you through this process in a caring, sensitive manner. Once your pet has passed away, you will be given time to say goodbye in a private room. We work with a local pet cremation company who provide a compassionate service and a fitting memorial for your pet. Our staff can provide you with photographs of the full range of caskets and keepsakes.

  • Nurse Led Clinics: our clinics are organised and run by our Head Nurse Tiffany, assisted by our Trainee Nurse Sarah. Our nurses provide focus care and advice including preventative measures and education for pet owners. the clinics offer services such as post-op care, wound management, nail clips, anal gland expression, microchipping, preventative treatment, diabetic clinics and much more. Please contact the practice and ask to speak to Tiffany or Sarah to book your appointment.

Our team will foster a warm and welcoming environment, helping your pets feel comfortable and at ease during their visits. We pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners, because we believe that trust and communication are essential for optimal pet health.
